About US
Imaginal Airlines creates departures to support ways of seeing.
We transform the familiar ritual of air travel into a container for deep listening and self-encounter. Through live music and embodied practices, we guide journeys into landscapes of consciousness, memory, and imagination.
We are based in Vancouver, on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. We are a collective of musicians, designers, and contemplative practitioners dedicated to the art of inner travel.
Our work includes:
Flight A108: Our flagship immersive flight, a round-trip ticket through the inner landscapes of your mind and body.
The Gong Library (our curated instrument collection), and ongoing explorations in sound.
FLIGHT A108: The Imaginal Planes
Flight A108 is our signature immersive experience, named for its auspicious and circular nature. From check-in to landing, you'll move through our curated space while live musicians guide you through sonic landscapes for inward travel.
The flight is designed to be a meditative sound experience: a journey across the internal terrain of your imaginal world.
The Flight:
Check-In: Welcome to Imaginal Airlines. Our staff greets you, books you in, and issues your personalized boarding and baggage documents.
Security/Customs: A reimagined threshold that prepares you to shift attention inward. Gentle prompts invite reflection on memory and perception, priming you for the flight ahead.
Boarding: Proceed to the gate area and await your flight. When called, you're guided to your seat in the aircraft, a space transformed for deep listening. Settle in. We will soon be departing.
Takeoff & Flight: (60 minutes) Before the flight begins, there will be a short safety announcement on navigating your imaginal airspace. Gongs, percussion, and strings create evolving sonic landscapes, guided by our custom animated score. You may listen, feel, let images arise, and experience felt senses, the surfacing of memories and emotions, allowing yourself to engage with what may want to come up.
Landing: The guides return us to the terminal. Before deplaning, there is a short period for optional sharing. Each flight is captured in real-time as a unique sonic mandala, yours to take with you.

The Flight
Using the flight as a metaphor to create a liminal space—a powerful "in-between" state where transformation is possible. As a personal journey shared in a communal way, the experience is designed to be both light and playful while also holding space for profound self-engagement. It meets participants wherever they are, offering a unique group experience.
